How do you prime the oil pump?

I have used a garden sprayer with a 1/8 NPT to hose fitting on the end instead of the wand. Put your oil in the sprayer, pump it up, and turn over the engine. Is there a NPT fitting like the one for oil pressure that you can access the oil galleys?
