Introduction

This is just a brief introduction for a new member (although several members already know me...). My name is Mike, and I have an addiction.

I am addicted to racing my vintage Mopar, just about like everybody else here. I have a 1966 Barracuda Formula S that was converted many years ago (about 20) into a "still street legal" vintage road racer per the original homologation paperwork obtained from the FIA in Switzerland. The car has over 5,000 track miles on it now, and has been in over historic 40 road race events at just about every track from Seattle to Southern California. I race under the "Team Starfish" banner, to honor the original T/A team run by Scott Harvey, (although my car is more prepared as an vintage legal endurance racer (think Le Mans or 24 Hrs of Daytona) than a Trans Am car).

Even after all these years I am still looking forward to learning from others, and imparting what knowledge I have gained in my 20 years with this car.

I look forward to adding what I can to this forum.

Hey Mike welcome aboard!

Back in the mid 80's my first car was a 66 Barracuda, so I have a soft spot for them. Pretty sure I seen your car at one of the Mopars at the Strip events some years back.

Yup, I did take the car to Las Vegas a number of years ago. The car is fresh off a restoration from a major engine fire in 2012, so I am starting to get active with it again:




I know Dave, Matt, Tim from Alltime Racing, and others here from the MOPAX list, but there seems to be a lot more people here than on MOPAX.

Looking around there is a LOT of information on this website! I am impressed.

That image is stuck in my mind Fishracer66, if anyone ever tells you lighting will not strike a car they don't know what they are talking about, we had an ambulance struck the same night mine was and they showed the security video of it on our news, Victoria was struck when it hit a chain link 6 ft tall and bounced and hit Victoria in 2011. wow your Fish looks like a great MoPar

The power was out here on the hill and the power company drove up and put the fire out for me the same way. wow what a mess, but it is all behind me now. I have moved the fuel line and updated to a steal line away from my coil .
