Do I just cut the seatbelt wires?

Working on updating the seat belts on my '72 Scamp. I am replacing stock belts with Andover 3-pt retractable belts. I removed the OEM belts from the passenger side today. There are two wires that go to the retractable floor mounted spool. I assume that I just snip these wires?

Will this cause my belt buzzer to sound? After I snip the wires, do I need to anything else?

I would say that referring to about page 12 and after in the pdf, pulling the relay and buzzer would be what you want. It's "up under the dash" somewhere to the right of the column or starting approx at the 16 minute mark in the movie
 
I'd just tuck the connector under the seat and not cut it. Mine are unhooked and do not sound the buzzer ('74 Scamp).
 
If there are two wires, they must go to a connector somewhere. Disconnect the connector and see what happens.
 
Found this in Chiltons. If it's just those wires, you can probably just pull the connection as someone said. If other connections in same plug, most of them you can pull individual terminals from the connector so not cutting and leaving wire ends to cause problems later

I think the wires are the 'passenger retractor switch' in the schematic above.
 
I cut, capped, and taped them. Started the car, put in drive for a few minutes and no buzzer. :)

New belts are in:

Too late for this to help you but for others considering aftermarket belts...
Buy the type with a drop link at the upper mount ( like vans have ). Without it the belt will run too high and too far rearward to be comfortable and most effective.

I had wondered about the drop link you mentioned. At least with my '72, which had the roof mounted static 3rd belt, the mount point is the same and works well without an adaptor. Replacing the static with retractable doesn't change the comfort, placement, or effectiveness from stock (what ever that is :))
