Trying to get a feel with the group on what others have done to restore the metal seat backs and hinge covers on 67 Cuda.
I have a the backs that are in good shape but need to be painted to match the same color: black.
Has anyone had any good success doing this??? Ideas???
Thanks

Yeah I recently did this. The seat back should be covered in a thin piece of pressed vinyl with a chrome trim around it. I couldn't remove the chrome trim without possibly messing it up so I just taped it off.

I then cleaned the hell out of it until I was satisfied. I then sprayed SEM's adhesion promoter to the manufactures specs and then used SEM's Color Coat Landau Black. You have to do a whole bunch of very very light coats. I probably did 15 light coats on each seat back. In the end it looks factory. If you don't do super light coats, you'll end up with an uneven color with some parts looking glossier than others.

I also painted the kick panels and console the exact same way and I was extremely satisfied with the way everything turned out.
