Nice, tell us a bit about the car! what will you be using for power?

The way it's looking it will have a 383 with a 727 automatic and air conditioning removed the factory heat air box welded every thing shut in the engine compartment and will be using a street rod style heat/air box -bench seat with shifter on the column two tone blue interior also plan on buying the HemiDenny k frame

Any progress???

No not that you can see it's off the rotisserie on jack stands.Working on the drive train and suspension.I found a 69 383 and 727 for it so I guess I can say it has the correct year motor and tranny to make it sound offical.Ordered the HDK tubular k frame and a Dana 60 so hopefully in a couple of weeks I can work on putting the drive train in.

OK I picked up this 74 Dodge Van that had a 383 in it for the motor - 727 + other items it had a holley TBI on it with a bad fuel pump so I put a carb on and it fired right up ran perfect.Pulled the motor-tranny and last Saturday I took it out side and pressure washed it (check out the weather in northern Indiana) I was a big icicle.Any way turned out that the 383 is a 69 HP and it's the 335 horse version. These things make some serious HP and torque with little mods-Getting real excited

wow gratz on the 69 HP block find for your 69 haha
very lucky

p.s. my dana 60 came out of a 1ton dodge van, you better check that one!

Yes I can say the 69 Valiant has the correct year motor sounds good even though they never had the 383 but the other brands wouldn't have a clue anyway

The van is a 1/2 ton and has an 8 3/4 3.23 open rear but may pull it and have it reworked

Stuff starting to arrive

cool, keep the progress coming, I wonder if the width of the van rear end is close to a a body width

No it would have to be cut down put the figures together and bought a complete Dana 60 set up for an a body instead for about the same money probably overkill but /////

I am doing the same for my dart, don't wanna have to buy a rear, new brakes, I would put a complete new center section, axels .....ect....... you know what I mean..

This is going to be a sweet ride-how much would one expect to pay for a good rotisserie? Do you have a brand recommendation?

In the mock up stage right now from dash forward hope to have the rear - motor - tranny in today

motor - trans - rear in for mock up starting to see progess

You want to make sure you got the motor dried out after the pressure wash. I ruined a motor doing that, then letting it sit. Rings froze up.....Just sayin
