I just listed my duster on craigslist an hour ago and already had someone reply saying its a mess and wouldnt even be worth parts. Why would someone reply like that....jeesh! I think thats horrible. Sorry just needed to vent

They are just trying to convince you it is not worth what you are asking so they can get it cheaper.

Some people lead very unhappy lives and negativity just oozes from their pores every minute of their sorry lives. Sounds like you've brushed it off and venting is sometimes what it takes. Good luck, I hope you do well with the eventual sale.

There's lot's of scum on craigslist. I sell for a living, and 20% are like those people, and 80% are good people. Stay optimistic, then you win ,not them. They are Ignorant people.

Hi Tom, I've found craigslist is a crapshoot at best....it can be a bad process as a seller no matter what we try to sell even if we give it away. I always go with the attitude that I've got no expectations and can't be offended as a result. I can only laugh and say "no thanks"....Brian

That is just part of the game.
Look at this site-- it happens here all the time with a very specific group of people (meaning mopar a body enthusiasts).

don't worry about it, either reply nicely by saying that you'll wait for a better offer-- or just delete the message-- it is no big deal-- the internet allows too much B.S. because there will never be face to face interaction.

Good luck with your sale --tax season & spring is coming ,Lawrence

You will find that opinions are like butts. Everyone has one and some of them stink!!

Well much as you don't wanna hear this, YOU put your car on a public forum for sale. Expect to get the bad with the good.

I agree with everyone above. The world is full of assholes and a Craigslist ad just gives them an opportunity to interact with you. I sell pretty regularly on CL and sometimes use texts to communicate. If someone starts off on the wrong foot, I blow them off with a snarky reply and move on. People (myself included) will say things to each other over texts that they wouldn't have the nerve to say to someone's face. It's a cat and mouse game that people use to get good deals on CL. Unfortunately, some people feel the need to degrade what you're selling. I take good pictures and give a good description. Usually, the serious buyers will call and talk about what you're selling. could be worse, there is some joker up there trying to sell a faded bleu 72 with 340 call outs and a 318 in for 5800 bucks and the trunk lid wont even close

I got a half a mind to send that guy an email to tell him he just GIVE me the car and be done with it

seriously though, craigslist is full of jokers, both as seller and supposed buyers
IMHO the problem is that it is free and therefore there is no way to weed out the people who have nothing better to do then waste your time

ive been looking for a duster for about 18 months now and I can assure you what you are asking is in no way out of line for what you are selling
shoot, put her back together and with a repaint you can put it on ebay for 18K ;)

Probably just not a MoPar guy, and (as we have done many a time to people selling GM's and Fords), he felt the need to express his dislike for Mopars, regardless of what it is.

Remember, most brand loyalists, either have no clue as to the value of certain models of "other brands", some don't care, and still others suffer from both afflictions. It happens to GM guys, Ford guys, ricer guys, and even MoPar guys.

CL attracts bottom feeders. I don't use it much, but usually get more crap replies than legit ones. I don't know if your $ is on or not, but sounds like a reasonable starting point. The car looks like a nice project and far from a parts car. Just ignore those replies. If they are really interested, first thing I would want to know is details about the 340 that comes with it...

Or that they are a moron...they tend to hang around cl or kijiji..

haha, thanks

You find all kinds on Craigslist, but I still like to use it. You get what you pay for, though. I just hate dealing with the public in general. My social skills are not the greatest.

There is some real gold in this thread!

When selling stuff this situation just comes with the territory. Guys will tell you your stuff isn't worth crap. Others will be straight up and provide a decent value.
