I'd use at least 1 ga. You thinking of "ever" showing up at an NHRA track? If so, you need to look at the rules for trunk mount battery.

I`ve used 2 gauge on 4 cars, never had a problem!!!!!!!!!!!!!!bob

Never going to be at a NHRA dew to no roll cage in my car, just a few times a year I head to the track for some test and tune fun other than that its a street car. Just trying to get it too hook better without spending a fortune.
 
Ebay usually has deals on 100 FT of 0 gauge for 80 dollars. I bought this
