Winter time model building thread.

You modeling guys, might be able to help me with a project....

I got a small shop of my own for hobby work, and being laid up from past health issues, I've got a bit of time on my hands that allow me to do a few things without hurting myself doing them in the shop....

So anyway, I don't have, but one of you must... have a real Mopar \6 that you can get me some measurements from......I got a few straight 6's that I plan to "lean" to be a slant.....6 yes, problem being, the damned valve cover......I need some good width and length measurements from a factory not an aftermarket UNLESS you would like to see something of both done. let me know as I want to mill them out of plastic on the mill and making a "flange plate" to be the bolt flange in the cover itself, with all the trails for a socket and extension to follow to tighten down the bolts. needless to say, the sides are on a 30 degree angle, that's pretty easy to do, BUT its that damned width and length. to see how much I need to do to the block that I have.....IF it will even fit!

Once I get the basics, I will be posting pictures of its outcome!

As here within the weekend, I should have pictures of a custom done, "Max Wedge", 426......I'm putting into a 1969 Charger R/T that WAS an ex General Lee. This car however, IS not in Orange, I choose to paintit Panther Pink, instead. just something different, as it was the model that was sold at Wal-Mart so....... and I have an OLD 181 General Lee from Warner Bros that was made by AMT Ertl back in the day! Collectable, these days! So.....

Also, ANY other valve covers you don't see, IF you have real specs that I can scale down, let me know! As the heads on the 426 model I just mentioned, I cut them out of a block od styrene! on the Mill! :glasses7:

Once I make these tho, I also plan to mold the "mastered" copy........ that way they'll be easy to re-produce. hey, after not being able to work for awhile now, I got to make it up some how. and at a good rate, I should be able to sell a little more then the ones from Ross Gibson at 30 bucks a wack......BUT, I too am not offering complete motors, just detail parts to transform those the person already has..........As the block to the 440 Wedge, or Commando, will do a 413 or even the 426. They're close enough in scale to work. and hell I think the parts on the real ones are interchangeable. the heads and valve covers anyway........

Let me know guys!
