Specs for my SB

I think normally you'd have the rest figured out and tested first - then order the custom cam to get what you want out of the combination.

I do have the rest of the combination figured out, bottom end, intake, just needed to see what kinda flow I'd need to support my cam. And I've been reading "how to build horsepower vol 1" and from what I gather the cam is the most important part of the motor, in the fact that it has more effect on every part of the motor, gearing etc. So why not chose a cam and build your motor around the cam selection??
