Anyone else dream of E-Body ownership?

Figure it anyway you want it. The bottom line is, if you settle on anything less than what you want, you have compromised and will always be left knowing you have short changed yourself leaving yourself wanting and wishing.

Life is to short not to enjoy.
 
Yep, you are right.

I just wish I lived somewhere warm where I could drive my Duster almost everyday... not where it's snowing and where we have had zero degree temperatures. Miles driven in my car mean much more to me than how much it's worth.

For a guy wanting an E body, juju at owning it is going to make him happy. Updating/changing the drive train and other parts out is icing on the cake. Same as a Duster or any other car.

The particular car you want is nothing more than the entry price to the car world.
There are a lot less Cuda's made vs. Dusters. The more something is made the cheaper it becomes.

Remember the cost of the then newly introduced flat screen TV?
Now local stores are giving them away and come Christmas time, there making combo deals with home surround systems for less than either one was introduced for price wise when they were new.

At the above Hagerty prices, I think getting a Cuda at that price with a 318 in it, it ought to be in mint condition. That in itself would make me grin ear to ear for a good long time.
 
Yea, Detroit has a little bit of a rougher winter than Long Island does.
I'm usually out with my old cars so long as the salt isn't! That would included the dry dusty salt. There's always a few months there put away.

Or I could just move to Florida ........

I took the family to the beach last month and couldn't help but imagine driving the dart down beach blvd and seeing the water on my side. Being from California and now living in Indiana sucks at those times.

Were not talking about flipping cars, were talking about owning them . plastic door panels and all .
 
Had a 73 Challenger back in the day and it was the newest Mopar I ever owned and it was quick and lot's of fun. I had a chance to buy it back a couple years ago but it was too far gone for me to handle. My first car was a 65 Dart in 71' and when I found my 66 Dart a few years back I knew it was meant to be.

hey i have nothing against ebodies hell i have a few friends with some really nice ones, but for me i always prefered the abodies. there are quite a few b-bodies i'd take well before wanting to own a ebody also. 67 coronet, 68 coronet, 70 coronet, 68-70 charger, 68-70 road runner for example...
 
For me, an E Body is the one that got away. I could have had one in high school in 77 or 78 - 71 'Cuda ragtop, 383, 4 Speed, Yellow, black billboards. Unfortunately didn't have the price of entry then, sure don't have it now.
My wife was understanding enough to encourage me to fulfill my dream of owning a muscle Mopar but I had to keep it under $15,000. I love my Duster and was very surprised by just how nice it drives. It really is a lot of fun. I've always liked Dusters so I'm thrilled to have it.

Even in the unlikely event I win the Lottery, I'm keeping it. In that case it will probably have a couple of stablemates - a 70 'Cuda AAR and a 71 Charger R/T or Plymouth GTX.

My 2 favorite cars are the `70 `cuda and the `70 road runner. I "only" have a `72 Barracuda with a 340/4spd and a `70 383 FC7 road runner that needs to be restored,the `70 Duster is my drag car. If I could only have one it would be a `70 cuda, either an AAR or Hemi if I could afford one but since I`ve had my Barracuda since `82 it`s not going anywhere.


 
never did like the e body don't know why?
I have a 68 barracuda to me I don't know what's more beiutiful a 20 year old supper model or my 68?
you can't compare the lines from the 60s to the 70s
every has an opinion but to me ., for muscle cars the 60s were it it it it
although I have to say I do like the new challengers there pretty nice more so then a 70s challenger I think.

E body owners just need their egos stroked more than other people.

For the most part any E body I have ridden in and driven has felt like any other old 60s Chrysler product...but get many more oohs and aahs at a car show.

Wow, what stereotyping! I fell in love with a `73 candy apple red 340 `cuda back in high school. I didn`t need to have one and I looked at a lot of cars - even Mustangs - before I bought my Barracuda back I `82. I do not have a big ego, it was just the best car I found for $1000. As far are the cool factor goes sure the E-bodies get a lot of attention at shows but I also get the "is this a Charger?" or "hey look, the General Lee" or worst "nice Camaro" so not everyone knows what they are.

lol.. thats funny. not true for 100% of ebody owners but there is sure a large segment of ebody owners that are worse than those vette owners.. :)
