See hundreds of comments on the subject.....but dont see a clear answer.....looking to put 205/70-14 on a 68 GTS.....looking for close to factory look......size OK? Have a set of 225/70's and the rub front fender

Thanks

I think you will be about perfect with the 205/70R14 on the front and could leave the 225/70R14s on the rear. I have those exact sizes on my 68 GTS and I think it looks very close to factory. I think a 205/70 on the rear would look kind of small in diameter. I would post pictures if I knew how. If you are interested in seeing a couple pm me and I can email them to you.

if you remove the brace from the top of the fender to the inner fender it will stop rubbing assuming your backspacing is right. I had the same tire with it 1/2" off the bump stops with no rubs.

I have a 69' GTS. I had a perfect pair of E70-14 redlines from back in the day, and the measurements were almost Identical to a 20575R-14'. However,The car didn't drive like I remembered back then. the tires seemed too big, and had a mind of their own.
I'm strict about the originality and driving characteristics, so tires too big aren't right for me. I went ahead with the 205- 70R-14 in the front, And the dart drove beautifully. I went 21570R-14 for the rear, as I thought also that the 205-70 looked too small in the rear, but I also didn't want too much height.

215-70-14 i have on front .. on jack stands now .. don't look that they will rub .. The 205's looked to small ..
