Buzzin Half Dozen

-
Well, looks like this Thursday the Buzzin Half Dozen will be finding its way to a New happy home !! Someone saw it at the Mopars of Brevard Super Swap and liked it enough to make an offer,so it's adios !!!

That was a really nice car; I'm sorry to see it go.

How did it run? Did you ever get it on a set of clocks?

NO, never did Bill ! Gonna take a break for a bit and keep looking and see if I find anything that jumps out and says this is what I need to play with next ! There was a car hauler here that tickled my fancy, but I won't have anywhere indoors to keep it,so that nips that in the bud !! And now there's a 340 Demon that's lookin kinda nice !! I just need to wait 'till after we get moved to our new place before I make any decisions !! So that's gonna take me to April,so I've got plenty of time to window shop !

Thanks for the info!!!! Hope your next car looks as good as this one did. It was a real eye-popper!

Wish I could have bought it...

Can't for the life of me remember to whom I should THANK,but THANK YOU for the idea of the Buzzin Half Dozen BEE !!!

BeeBuzz20text1.jpg

I've been to a Sign Shop, and they're working on one for me to put into the Bumble Bee Stripe that will bee on the back of my '69 Dart when it's done !! The parts that are Yellow, will bee the body color, and the parts that are White will a silverish color while the black remains Black !! I got to see a goofed one today, and once they get the color right it's gonna be killer IMO anyway !! So again, let me say THANK YOU !!!

Hay man. Have you got a non watermarked picture I could take to my local sign guy to make some decals? I'd be glad to pay you for it.

i'm sure if you go to local sign guy, he can add his own font. and prestow!
should of done this myself

I don't know anybody that can remove a watermark. The font on it is cool. I'd use it just like it is.

Looking back at this ancient thread, I have an 85 D-150 that came from the factory with a slant and a 727. The 727 which everyone else I talk to wants me to throw out in place of a 904 I ain't so sure I'm sold on that idea..... Me +904s don't seem to get along so well. I definitely like "different".
And I even have a good rebuild able 904 core sitting here now.... But not so sure I want to demote my truck like that.
No... "overkill" is doing something like sticking a 727 behind a normally-aspirated slant six. A...

Or, a 727 in a normally-aspirated slant 6 car that you want to go fast in...

I ain't sure the slant EVER needed a 727. I don't know why it was ever done even in trucks and vans. I still want on though. Just to say "hay, yall check this out...."

I'm the same way. I like doin stuff different too. Nuffin wrong with that. We want pics though.

If you're talking about the buzzin half dozen, 68-ish valiant that Mike Jeffries used to own, the guy who now has it lives about 35 miles from me. It does still have a slant 6 in it. The owner is on the /6.org site quite often

I would keep one in a truck. It's a truck. It's like havin a Chrysler 8 3/4 in a stock Dodge colt. It'll never break. Look at it this way, Chrysler and all their engineers thought it was a good idea. While we might think it's overkill and it certainly is, if I had a truck with a slant six and it had the 727, there's no way in hell I'd change it. I don't care what any forum gurus say.

Oh and just to let you know, our member and friend, Bill Dedman has been passed for a few years now. He was a cool dude. May he RIP.

The guy who now owns mike Jeffries buzzin car is among those telling me to downgrade to a 904.
It was included in that pile that I hauled home from GA and I was told it was a good "core". The TC has been sitting next to it long enough to get rusty, and when I loaded it I wound up wearing about 1/2 of the ATF that was in the pan.
I'm 98% sure that my 727 has ring gear tooth issues, will need a converter when I swap the engine, this 904 will also need a converter. The 727 works great otherwise, fluid is clean.
I wanted to buy a Tork master converter for the 727 as I found one nearby, new in box for a great price until I ran the number on my 727 and found out it's a lockup version. Crap. I ain't sure whether the 904 is or isn't. If I DID run the "nasty 904" I'd definitely build it up before it went in.... But probably won't.

You're being told that because of countless forum gurus preaching that the 727 soaks up a lot of power....and it's true. But it's a truck. It was built to be heavy duty. Sure the 904 will work and take less power to turn, but there's no way in hell I would ever change it, even if I had every single part to do it and a reputable mechanic working for free. It just wouldn't happen.

I've swapped 727s in place of 904s before, but never the other way around.
And I was quite surprised to see the 727 in this truck, I've had several of these trucks with V8s and 904s, and both my dad and I had 3/4 ton B-vans with 318s and. 904s. And here's a /6 powered (I think it's even a D 100 not a D150 even) with the lightest gvw they made during those years with the 727 from the factory. Weird.

Somebody ordered it that way. They probably towed with it.

I doubt it was towed with. 3.21 rear, no hitch, no trailer wiring.

So nobody on here knows where to get the damn stickers?

Rusty I think you responded to a different thread than you intended.
