Well, I will do alot of the metal work but the final body prep will be done by a good friend of mine who is a top notch body man. the "Devil Duster" will have to be razor straight too be painted black..

After fixing the sandblasting problems I was having yesterday, pushed the car back out of the garage and was determined too
get the rest of the firewall and the door jam or until I ran out of sand. Done and done. sprayed the etch primer on and pushed her back into the garage before the Super Bowl..

Not sure if I covered this in any earlier posts but not only did this car sit in a pole barn in Carolina for fifteen years it also had been hit in the front. When I purchased the car it drove and tracked straight but the evidence was there of an impact by a small crinkle in the top of the inner fenders. Once disassembled it is always worst than you were initially thinking. the drivers side core support and several inches of the frame rail was repaired by what appears too be heating and bending back into place. This will be a huge challenge too repair correctly but have discussed a plan of attack with my neighbor who is a awesome body man. Once I finish with the blasting of the rails and some other areas will get into more details of my plans for repairing this area.

1972 Duster 340. True H-Code car, however the engine is not numbers matching. The engine is a 1970, 340. bored out to .30 over with j heads and a street thumper cam. It currently has a 600cfm holley carb sitting on a elderbrock performer RPM Air-Gap dual plane aluminum intake. Backed by an automatic trans, with a 2800 stall torque. The car is the original color, TX9- Formal Black. However I had it repainted late last fall. Still have to install the stripe package this spring.
Tim! Your work is superb and it willl pay off when it comes to an end! Can't wait to see the result.

Even though my 72 340 duster was and is white since I bought it. It is originally TX9 black exterior, black vinyl top, black interior, stripe delete car.
So thats 4 at any rate. LOL

Don't forget to picture or making notes where the body sealer should be as well as the small sealer chunks is placed. I have just talking with the paint guys and they said it was a big help to recreate it.
