What does 'Survivor Car' Mean?

The paint did not survive if all the outer body panels have been repainted.I would consider that maybe a unrestored car but not a survivor.But a car that has aftermarket parts,been repainted,and had the interior removed is not a survivor.The "survivor" word is used way to loosely nowadays.Surely doesn't mean you do not have a nice clean car.
