The hauler which is an original Tyrone Malone "Hideout Truck" will sport a resin cast Dodge LS1000 with the Aerodyne roof grafted on & the Tyrone Malone "Super Boss" will get a resin cast BigHorn cab soon too

I picked this Firetruck up cheap, It was opened & already started & missing a few things so I figured the FireHouse Race Team needed a HaulerHome
I have a donor race team trailer I'll use to build the camper/storage part & a Haulaway trailer for the slant deck that the car will sit on

The modified will get a Mopar engine

Here are some of my recent builds, three of them were gifts, the 41 Willys was a birthday present, the Chriistine was a "just because" from the same person and the 71 Plymouth Pro Stock was also from the same person and his claim to fame are his engines, I have been trying to get him to join For A Bodies Only.
Here's the 71 GTX done in One Touch Blazing Orange

You modeling guys, might be able to help me with a project....

I got a small shop of my own for hobby work, and being laid up from past health issues, I've got a bit of time on my hands that allow me to do a few things without hurting myself doing them in the shop....

So anyway, I don't have, but one of you must... have a real Mopar \6 that you can get me some measurements from......I got a few straight 6's that I plan to "lean" to be a slant.....6 yes, problem being, the damned valve cover......I need some good width and length measurements from a factory not an aftermarket UNLESS you would like to see something of both done. let me know as I want to mill them out of plastic on the mill and making a "flange plate" to be the bolt flange in the cover itself, with all the trails for a socket and extension to follow to tighten down the bolts. needless to say, the sides are on a 30 degree angle, that's pretty easy to do, BUT its that damned width and length. to see how much I need to do to the block that I have.....IF it will even fit!

Once I get the basics, I will be posting pictures of its outcome!

As here within the weekend, I should have pictures of a custom done, "Max Wedge", 426......I'm putting into a 1969 Charger R/T that WAS an ex General Lee. This car however, IS not in Orange, I choose to paintit Panther Pink, instead. just something different, as it was the model that was sold at Wal-Mart so....... and I have an OLD 181 General Lee from Warner Bros that was made by AMT Ertl back in the day! Collectable, these days! So.....

Also, ANY other valve covers you don't see, IF you have real specs that I can scale down, let me know! As the heads on the 426 model I just mentioned, I cut them out of a block od styrene! on the Mill! :glasses7:

Once I make these tho, I also plan to mold the "mastered" copy........ that way they'll be easy to re-produce. hey, after not being able to work for awhile now, I got to make it up some how. and at a good rate, I should be able to sell a little more then the ones from Ross Gibson at 30 bucks a wack......BUT, I too am not offering complete motors, just detail parts to transform those the person already has..........As the block to the 440 Wedge, or Commando, will do a 413 or even the 426. They're close enough in scale to work. and hell I think the parts on the real ones are interchangeable. the heads and valve covers anyway........

Let me know guys!

Harry, yeah that's a Ross Gibson model, to me, a bit over priced.....Specially when I know I can get a whole damn model for that price they want for just a motor!

Plus, I like making my own parts, always have.......No matter how that might work out....

Currently, I've made a 426 Max Wedge, to go into a 69 Charger R/T. Then, I'm working on a 426 Hemi motor, to become a sign post ornament. (LONG story) on this one....

Then, I sat last night just after making my posting above to complete the valve covers, and heads to a Ball-Stud Hemi, 444. I have to find a Sox & Martin GTX to put it in tho.....

The 69 Charger tho, has become Panther Pink.....I got a bit yet to do to it....

I agree, it is high.......Nicely detailed but, I can't justify it. I myself, LOVE recreating in scale by my own 2 hands, as I enjoy the building, designing and go on my own materials to see just what I can do. plus, I use a lot of scraps too..... Which you'll see in a bit.

BTW, I found a picture of a chromed Slant 6 valve cover you were selling, I saved them as I'm going to use the picture to recreate the model part....(I probably won't be "plating" it tho once made in Chrome....I'll probably be painting it Chrysler Red, and or Hemi Orange, UNLESS I think differently when its being built as I may try the Mopar Turquoise, as you can see, that's all up in the air as I haven't put more then the design thought at hand.

this was on ebay last week. looks like this "builder" thought outside the box!

Love the truck I need one of those in 1:1. Looks great very nice work.

Thanks for the compliments. The tires were aftermarket. I got them back in the 90's. I think the company's name was Shaboo?

What are you guys using for the plug wires? I want to add them to a few of the models Im doing but not sure what to buy.

Detail wire you can get at hobby shops or radio shack, michaels and such. Detail master makes it for the hobby crowed others go the radio shack michaels way cheaper from them.

Wires make a nice detail for your build, try getting the firing order correct also, that's fun and frustrating sometimes. lol

Have fun with your builds.

Bob

Thanks Sky, By the sounds of it, its actually a wire correct?

Yes, it is actual wire. 27-guage wire is appropriate for scale 8.5 mm spark plug wire (a tiny bit large, but OK).
You can get 12 spools of 26-guage bead wire (9-feet of wire per spool) currently on sale from Hobby Lobby - sale price is $4 for all 12 spools, each spool is a different color.

Or you can get one 72-foot spool of silver wire on sale for $1

Here is a Revell Daytona kit I finished up except for decals.
