Out with the old in with the old
More work on the Dart today.
The trunk was pretty grungy and I figured the rest of the interior was the same under the carpet.
Step 1 - Wire brush everything to loosen crud and vacuum
Step 2 - Simple Green and wipe down floor
Step 3 - Rust Converter to help out with surface oxidation
Step 4 - Prime
Step 5 - Paint
Step 6 - Dynamat floor and dynapad cardboard pass through.
I also installed 3 pt retractable seat belts to replace the old green lap belts. New seats will be here in a few days.
On the outside I tried a trick someone told me. Aluminum foil and coke " I used coke zero" to remove oxidation without scratching the metal underneath. My front bumper is HEAVILY oxidized so I figured I had nothing to lose if it messed it up.
This is after about 10 minutes of polishing. At this point I was wore out from the rest of the day and called it quits. I'm impressed with it and will finish it out when the weather clears back up.
