MSD Blaster 2 with electronic ignition

Has anyone here tried the MSD Blaster 2 Coil (8202) on a Mopar stock electronic ignition system without the ballast resistor, and doesn't have any problems? I've heard possibilities of coils exploding from doing this over a short period of time driving on the street without a ballast, while using a standard coil. Didn't know if the MSD Blaster 2 Coil is built to withstand a higher current all the time without the assistance of a ballast resistor upon a stock Mopar electronic ignition system. I may just play it safe and go with the ballast resistor, but by all means, if it works without, more power to the plugs. :-D
