I bought a Lokar locking dipstick for my 727 and it won't fit. The piece that bolts into the pan is way too long, almost hits the tunnel. No way to couple the dipstick into it once it's bolted into the trans. Anyone else come across this? The one I have is part # 1211444 is there a different part # that would have a much shorter piece that bolts into the trans?

Where are you mounting the top of it?
Is it possible that mounting it higher will work?

I have the same dip stick. It will not fit. As you said the peice that bolts to the trans is to long. I ended up cutting and welding pieces to make it work. In the end it looks and works great but was a pita.

Thanks for the replies. That is what I did with mine too, put it in a lathe and shortened it way down. It fits good now and shouldn't leak. To bad Lokar can't provide the correct piece and also the spec on the piece as the pictures they show are for a very short piece that would no doubt fit. I did contact them about it, haven't heard back from them yet.
