Starting to install my Reilly Motorsport Alterktion and Street-Linx kit. It's been sitting in the garage for about 5 years now. I had a break in and lost most of my tools, some of the parts, and the car. It was going to go into my 69 Swinger, but now It's going into my 69 Valiant.

The engine is pulled, the suspension and k member removed and I'm getting at it this weekend.

Additional plans include to put some subframe connectors, some torque boxes to stiffen it up.

It's getting a small block stroker/727 trans.

I'm hoping to get some tips and pointers from members that may have installed one in the past.

Any tips on setting the motor mounts before welding?

How about the rear? I'm putting an 8 3/4 in, but the one I have is in pieces and I figured I would weld up the brackets before sending it off to get blasted and powder coated. Any suggestions on how to set the angle.

Cool I'll be putting the HDK in a 69 Valiant - 383/727 with a dana 60 should be getting the HDK soon so maybe we can compare progress/pictures here

the alterkation and street linx practically fall in. I have both in my 70 dart. I used a Strange S60 rear instead of the 8 & 3/4 when welding the 4 link tabs on, keeping in mind needing the room to grow for more power.

wow 71dodgedemon, that is going to be a hell of a resto. Looks good already. Even the garage looks like an operating room. I'm opting if cash wasn't a limiting factor I definitely would have picked a different components, but I'm using parts I've squirreled away and scrounged for for years. I'm stoked to have the RMS stuff. Cant wait to put it in. Will post pics.

mopardude318, very cool builds. Did your RMS alterktion come with the motor mount perches already welded on or did you have to place them and weld them?

the alter-k will fall into place.. its an easy install.. mine had the motor mounts already welded into place. but it shouldn't be hard to locate them. i would bolt the motor and trans in and locate them on the trans mount properly then place the motor mounts. just make sure the engine is located left to right properly and the up down angle is right.

that's what I figured. I've left the trans in and will bolt it up. l left the rear in for now too. I figured that would help with keeping everything aligned. I'm fitting everything in first, then I'm going to pull it all, send it in for blasting and powder coating. from sitting around the k member is really scaled up.

I would love to see some other alterktion RMS kits out there to get ideas on headers (thinking doug's) and any trick ideas for mods and custom ideas.

yea, my rms k-frame already had the mounts welded on.

if you sent your k-frame to Bill, he'd do it for ya. but i noticed youre in canada..shipping may not be cheap.
