Why in the world would you spend the extra $$ for the ceramic coating? Not a good idea.

I disagree and suggest the coating. However! Sometimes her round driving can damage the coating. Also new engines produce a lot of heat that will damage the coating.

Coatings should NOT be painted over.

My coated Hedmans lasted approx. 7 years in my every day driver before the first signs of rust showed up. The rust came through on the bottom of the headers where road debris damaged and chipped away at the coating exposing the metal.

Your results may vary.

No, the ceramic coating is the protective coating and it will last longer than you will probably own the car.

Of course that's IF it was applied properly. If you got the TTi headers with the inherent rusting issues, they lasted a year or two and rusted out.

Thanks to all! I got el cheapo flowtech ceramic, so no major loss if it doesn't last. should not get chipped up since installing with engine on cradle and lowering car over it. Motor is not completely fresh just all gaskets/seals valve job with new cam/lifters and springs so should not put off too much heat early on.
