The Best Kept Secret in Moparland

-
So much interchangeability, and yet folks still overpay for parts willingly...mass produced and not hand built= cheap...

I have done the FMJ spindles on a half dozen cars and had no issues in any way shape or form , Just because Rick Enberg doesnt think its right dont make it the Gospel . I have had no issues getting them aligned , they drive fine, and steer good too and they are cheaper . The headman header # 78030 works great with a b engine a body , i have doen that swap 3 times .

The throttle cable for a slant six and a 440 6 pack are the same on B and E bodies.
Dusters, Demons, and Dart Sports are the same car minus the entire front clip, tail light panels with tail lights, and some emblems.
Many bolts, clips, and fasteners were used for a lot of years on all mopars. E.G. the fender bolts on a Hemi Cuda are the same as a slant 6 Dart etc. etc.

I'm gonna read the whole list later. But for me...

The MoPar speed secrecy books and MP catalog of old. Where they have "speed tips" for your bracket racer or AKA, street pounder.

Another is the MoPar part itself. Better intake, heads. OK, they cost more than brand E or B, but then again, when it comes to cleaning the clocks of brand C and F, Ma MoPar knows best.

When I was just getting into MoPars, most I knew didn't want to know nothing about them. Many people just have away there MoPar. Parts were cheap since no one wanted a MoPar.

The real secrecy to MoPars are there just simply cool cars. Most everyone else was just following the leader like a good sheepeople would. Fine with me, more MoPar parts for me.

heres my list

1969 barracuda hood fits 1973 up dart, and vise versa. there was no chrome insert version for 1969. a 69 only flat hood with raised center hump, or the same hood with 2 tacked on forward facing scoops 'Cuda editions had this.

67 up A , B, C body. The outer door handles will fit off dodge pickup or ram van up to and including 1993, you may have to use your original linkage behind your original door handle button. the housings and button are the same tho.

dodge pickup for 1981 to 1993, and dodge daytona from 1988 to 1991 use the same front fender amber parking light lenses as A body and B body cars from 72up. only difference is the trim edge is painted black instead of silver.

the rear (red) parking lamps from a plymouth horizon/dodge omni from 1978 to i think 1989 fit A and B body cars from 72 up.

not sure but i believe the front door window regulators from a 4 door A body will fit a 2 door.

A body door hinges. chrysler only made 1 upper, and 1 lower. not LH and RH. if the drivers door lower hinge is slopped out on your 2 door, get one off the passenger side front door of a 4 door. shorter door less weight, plus passenger side less use as well. just flip it over, and it works.

(not sure but i think the lower hinges for A body and B body are the same. if so the ones for a ram pickup up to 1993 (old style cab) will work, i believe an additional hole needs to be drilled to use on A and B body cars.

power steering feel a bit floaty and over assisted ?? get a PS pump pressure regulator valve off a slant six saginaw pump. this is on the high pressure side of the pump where the hose fitting attaches. unscrew the big nut on the back of the pump. the regulator is right there. this drops pump output pressure on a V8 pump from 1,200 PSI to about 850 PSI. enough pressure to park one handed, plus lower pressure for better road feel similar to a manual box car.

79 cordoba 11.75 " disc brakes, and 2.75" piston calipers on A body spindles. direct bolt in, dont forget to get the caliper mouints , and mount bolts. the bolts are longer than A body ones. dont forget a larger bore cordoba master cylinder.

apparantly M body V8 radiators bolt directly into at least 67 to 69 A bodies with no mods. holes in the rad supports line right up. these came in cars with 318s and 360s

stock magnum V8/V6 starters fit pre magnum V8s and slant sixes. its a compact hi po starter for boneyard prices.

Don't forget the mini starters! go to the junkyard grab one off of a Dakota. from 90s all the way to 2000. will bolt up to MOST any mopar bellheousing. smaller, more torque and faster spinning. I paid 15 bucks for two of them. Sure beats 250 a piece from mopar performance.

Dome light covers are the same on a Lot of cars over a lot of different years.

Forgot about door handles and marker lights as mentioned by others already. Same thing for window cranks

Spool mount v8 K members are a nice replacement for /6 k member or stronger motor mount than the 72 and earlier ones.

Dart front clip same as a demon 71-71 and 72 to 72

Dart front clip same as dart sport 73-73 and 74/75-74/75

Duster front clip same as scamp year to year.

72 and 73 and possibly 71 rear bumper dart swinger and 4 dr are same.

B-van arm rests are the same or very similar to many a-body rear arm rests. I also recall people buying new b-van door hinges for restoration projects.

Was it a straight bolt in or did you need to bend any of the tubes. Were these cars manual or power steering.

I don't think you can have powers tearing or power brakes when doing a big block in an A body. Too little room, unless you do some more mods or something to the brackets. Mine is manual brake/steering 440

I haven't done it, but I think I have heard you have to ding the headers here and there for clearance. Not much though.

have done both with no modifications to the brackets..

you actually have more room with power brakes because a PB booster is small in dia and sits kinda high so the entire set up moves up and away from the motor..

did power steering with a set of pro parts headers. very tight but had a stock box, normal big block pump and brackets and didn't have to ding any header tubes.. :)

Moog Offset Upper Control Arm Bushings, for +3 degrees camber. Not so secret, but man, did it change the drivability of my Duster.

Tie Rod Ends and Sleeves from 76 Gran Fury, direct bolt in, and much stiffer.

Cordoba Front rotors and disk bracket.

Demonsizzler TQ's.

The real issue (for me) with a big block and power brakes is going to be the lack of a decent vacuum signal,lol...most guy's running big blocks want big power, and that needs a big cam.
