Hi Everyone,

Just wanted to see who is planning to attend the Portland Swap Meet in April. I've never been, but got invited. I hear its suppose to be pretty big.

Hoping to pick up some parts for the 70 Dart, talk to some Mopar guys and really just looking forward to the experience.
 
it's really big,, miles of tables, and only about 6 of them with have any Mopar,, and you usually have to dig it out of the "other" brands..

It is quite something,, they'll be 2 or 3 chrome dealers, if you need bumpers.. Take your old ones as core ($50).. and inspect closely anything you buy..

It's definately an experience..

Thanks for the heads up. I am going with an older gentleman who is into all makes and models, but his passion is Corvettes. He bought his '64 brand new and still has it to this day.

I am only looking for a few parts: Console, dash frame, some misc trim, and maybe a front grill. Shipping kills me on this site. :banghead:

I went last year with a friend that has been a vender there for years. The place is huge, can't possibly see it in one day. I loved it.
 
I went looking for an LD 340,, found one almost right away,, but it had been clamped down over the locator pins,, and could have been bent,, so I stashed it under a stack of Chebbie manifolds,, went looking for another 2 hrs,, never saw one,, raced back,, and it was still there. bought it,, and had 3 offers for it on the way out.. lol

Spent 2 more days there.. never saw another LD340

Exchange bumpers were $300 ea.. +$50 core

You know, there are actually 2 swap meets going on at the same time? The one at the Expo center is run by a different club than the one at the track.

I think the one at the expo caters to a little different crowd; mostly new car stuff. But there are shuttles that go back and forth between the two shows all weekend.
 
I have been there twice. It is definetly worth the experience going. I could look at car parts for days! We might go again this year.

fourfourtydemon (mike) usually has some stuff with the mopar guys behind the expo center, i bought some rust free fenders and doors from him two years ago, good guy.

Hey when you find out his booth space / locations could you let me know where? Ima gonna try to go to both meets, gotta try to make the best use of my time!
 
I'm going with my son and bro-in-law. Gonna do both meets,. Staying in Vancouver, WA. Hope the weather is good this year!
 
Yes, you certainly did! Nice party I left fat and happy lol!! You have a nice little A-body yourself and it sounds sweet!!

Hammer, I circled the map of the 13 spaces where we will be. Not sure what the actual space numbers are, but soon as I know I will post them up.

There is also a mopar guy at the pir (race track) somewhere around 2242 on the backstretch along a barrier wall on the inside of the track. here is the map

I think at PIR track it is russduanegreen and his buddy Dave from fabo, Dave is a Mopar guy also and the local powder coater.

This is a different guy. I forgot about the powder coater guy, he was in the pit area two years ago. I talked to one of the guys for a while, another good mopar guy!
