Mad Dog Headers

This guys has been making headers for 40 years. 20 of them making 440 A body headers and 15 years with the low deck

440 are 2" primaries with slip on collectors. The center 2 tubes are attached on both sides. They are very similar to tti's design. Price is 625 uncoated and he doesn't offer coating. They'll work with straight or angles plugs and are machined gasket surfaces.

The low deck is a totally different design from the TTI's and he says they can be installed easily in "20 min per side"

Web site says they work only with manual steering.

Those look sharp for $625. Pretty symmetrical for an original design....

I looked that those and ran away very fast. He sent me private pictures of headers he built. The flange is wafer thin. Have you seen the quality of TTI headers? far superior in my opinion.

Yes I have several sets of TTI Headers. All you got to do is tell the guy you want 3/8" Flanges on them, seems easy enough.

Why wouldn't he use thick flanges to start with? I wonder if he's gotten thin flanges to work ok?

freakin ridic price...who in their right mind would spend that kind of money for headers?

X2...OMG! I could buy another car for the price of those headers.....

1. Those are stainless steel headers.
2. Just showing another option.
3. Which isn't directed towards you but just general, people should stop bitching about the price of Doug's/TTi, you could always buy a set of these just saying.

In other words…... all you cheeeepoooo's keep quite! Lol

Lol. Nah nothing like that but when you put the stainless stain headers against the Doug's/TTi, both Doug's and TTi seem soooooo much more of a bargin.

Glad this point was brought up. I'm seriously considering going this route.

Yes. Very True.

This guy should mock up and make some Turbo Headers with 3/8 Flanges for the Mopar Crowd, he would sell them like Hot Cakes without a doubt.

My '69 Dart is a 383, 4speed with manual steering. From what I understand my car before I purchased it from the previous owner was the one used for the mock up of these headers and the headers on it now were the prototypes for what he sells now. I don't have any complaints with the quality, the flanges on mine are like 3/8", everything clears. If you do not have your engine tied and your mounts have some flex they may rub on the steering since it runs through 2 tubes and on the a passenger side tube may bump the inner fender. If someone wants pics I can post some up this weekend.

I'd love to see some pictures of how they fit.

Maddog headers are pretty nice. I have a set on my FE powered 64 Fairlane, they fit good, have 3/8" flanges and the welds are nice. I would give his Mopar headers a try.

yes, get those pics up. Thanks

i have seen those mad dog headers referred to a bunch of times here over the years. has anyone actually tried those on a big block abody? hows the quality, hows the fit and lets see some damn pictures...

they are stainless and they are tuned "Stock/Super Stock Mopar A-Body Headers"..

who would spend that money? you would be surprised. those stock/super stock guys are the ones buying finely tuned headers like that..

you loose horse power with TTI headers compared to a tuned header. So if you dino your engine with a hooker tuned header you can loose 20 to 25 HPs with a TTI, BUT THEY FIT NICE
