That modern look....

Love it, as long as its done "right". Like the Demon that's posted at the beginning of the thread. Or all the cars posted so far really.

But with larger rims you definitely have to put some work into getting the whole package to look right, you just can't toss on a 18's and expect it to look good. Biggest thing I think is setting the ride height up correctly, next is making sure you get the right aspect ratio on the tires so they're the right height. If you can keep the tires around 26" tall (or even a little taller in the back), things look pretty good.

The Demon looks awesome, but even it could have done better. It has 245/35/18's in the front and 335/30/18's in the back. The back is about right on at 25.9" tall, but the front tires are only 24.7" tall. With a 245/40/18 up front it would have come it at 25.7" tall, and the extra sidewall would have matched it up with the rear and improved the look a bit. At least in my opinion. But then they'd have needed to raise the rear end a smidge to keep the rake correct. It definitely gets complicated to set everything up right.

Hopefully I'll have my 18's on my Duster here in the next couple of weeks. I'll post it up so you guys can decide how I did. :D
