Shipping company recommendations

Acting as the owner's agent, I've shipped a few exotics for work. The best of the bunch I've worked with are Dependable Auto Shippers, Thomas C. Sunday, Horseless Carriage, Waggoners, and Intercity Lines. Never had a problem shipping or receiving with any of these. I've never shipped an inert car, so I can't comment on that aspect of it.

Just because the car makes it on the truck does not mean it will remain on the truck. Often it has been necessary to move a car on the back to get at a car located in the front of the trailer. I've never seen a driver for any of the companies listed above mishandle a car.

There are two other options you may wish to consider. First is renting a truck and trailer and driving across country. Another avenue is Uship. With Uship, the shipper is basically buying unused space on a truck. IIRC you can specify enclosed transport. Prices are favorable, but you need to be ready to go at a moments notice, and you may not get what you expect. Did it once with a car, did not specify but got an enclosed trailer. Price was about half what Reliable quoted me. Car was gone within two hours, delivered without damage the next day. (~ 800 miles away). www.uship.com
