What size battery ?

BCI group sizes ,are international. Measure, before you buy. Nothing bigger than a Group 24,would fit my stock battery tray.

The purpose of the battery is to store charge to start the car. The alternator takes over once the engine is running and supplies all the power to run the engine and accessories and put the charge back into the battery that was used to start it.

Yea, I realize all that.
If you have electric cooling that is fully automatic like mine and it's hot out the fan runs for some time.
Then there's the parked and running the stereo and such.
The alternator isn't going to do you one bit of good unless you have the battery reserve to start the car. :-D

It's just some things I take into account when getting a battery.

AAA batteries 3yr free replacement 3yr pro rated. Made in PA. (see link) Sears has been trying to get them to make batteries for them for a while. It just started happening. They also make the replacement batteries branded for Mercedes Benz. http://www.dekabatteries.com/
 
Out here in KA they charge a core - currently $12, period. It is the law that they have to unless you bring them a trade-in. They want a lead-acid battery, don't care beyond that. The idea is to keep dead batteries from ending up in vacant lots and what-not.
 
Ya heard this one? Allegedly true, probly not, LOL

Guy has his battery stolen out of his car.

Couple of nights later there's a brand new battery and an envelope on his front porch. "I'm very sorry, it was an emergency, and I took your battery. Here's a new one, and to make up for it, tickets to the XXXXXXX concert in town this weekend."

So the guy went to the concert!!!!!

And when he got home, his house and garage had been cleaned out!!!!!
 
Optima red tops in every thing...have had a few of them go 8 years before going away. Don't remember the specs but I get the one with 2 sets of terminals...
