I am kind of pumped right now as I just pulled this vintage scott injector and scoop out of the packing. This day is the end to a long and difficult search for one more engine part to scratch from my early hemi build list.
I just had to show someone as around my little neck of the woods nobody gets the insanity it takes to put together a engine like this with period correct parts. I am not done collecting parts for this engine but it will be much easier from here on to completion.
The only hard to find part left to find is a 331 aluminum front cam drive cover.
Sorry about all the dust that is how I received it.

My original plan was to put it in this pieced together 28 ford sedan. I recently sold it to a friend because I want the engine to go into a Mopar. Still looking for a late 20s early 30s
Mopar of some kind.

I could definitely see that on an old slingshot dragster! I'd never heard of a 'scott injector/scoop' before but I recognize that style from long ago. I wish I'd have kept my Hilborn and Enderle setups. Too bad I don't still have my '33 Plymouth 5 window for you anymore. NICE SCORE!

I have always wanted to shove a first gen Hemi in a '28 like that

This 28 started out as half a car pulled from a field. The rest of it I found a piece here and there. Made what was missing no expensive patch panels. Was very rikity and unstable at first.
Kept welding metal in it till it was solid and the doors opened and closed real nice. It did come out a much better body than it looks. But it is primitive. Will wind whistle for sure. Very fun project and cheap as well. No filler or paint supplies needed.
My friend that took it over has been coming over on the weekends till its a roller.
Starting on the frame rails this weekend.
As I am finishing up my engine I have been looking for a body for it. If I can't come up with
one I will build a front engine dragster frame, altered or something track only.

in 1968 my dad and i put a 1957 chrysler 392 Hemi in a 59 ply wagon. had the intake over sized for bigger carb. and cam. have had 3 392s

33 Plymouth would be my first choice if I can find one. Slingshot it will be if nothing comes my way. I like the way you do mopars 67cuda. Cool build threads you have going on.

Looks to be a few early Hemi fans out there. I used to pass on them when I was younger
on the hunt for 426 stuff, not anymore. I like them all.

Looks like its from outer space. These were popular from around 63-69.
Hell, yes. .... Is the blower set up already?

I pulled the blower off a jimmy diesel. Trimmed the tabs, Changed the end plates and bearings. Old cragar snout.
Started polishing it all up, this will take awhile. Got a vintage idler on the way off of eBay. Still need the lower pulley, front cover and belt.
It takes some time to do this as I have to fit one piece at a time to see what will fit next. Intake is home built, half done. I will do the idler pulley bracket next. I am trying to keep everything as compact as possible. That was the reason for the low scoop and the belt so close to the block. Water pump will be sorted after drive is complete. Probably remote off to the side. Unless it goes in a dragster, no water pump.
Injector pump is driven off a hilborn drive under the Joe hunt magneto for now. If I can find the right cover it will be off the cam. And then it will be zoomies for whatever chassis.

Wat about putting something like that into an old dart like a 62 63 dart leave the hood off lower it slot mags, flat black with some red metal flake , build some zoomies for the side and do like green lex an side glass

Haha, you are a good friend.

Seems like its a lot harder to find a Mopar of that vintage than a Chevy or Ford.

I'm 23 and would love to get my mitts on an old Hemi and build something crazy looking.

its a gasser for sure, but I do not believe it is altered wheelbase. If you look at the front and rear wheels, they are exactly where they would be located from factory
