Hi Guys,

New to this forum, but not new to A-Bodies. My grandfather (Harry Holton) was the driving force behind that pretty Barracuda at the top of the screen. I'm playing with a little Stock Eliminator car and am looking for a good/better Thermoquad to replace the later model version I've been running.

Looking for a '71 TQ, #'s 4972S or 4973S. Just looking for a core that I can rebuild to my spec's. This seemed like a good place to start!

Thanks!!

Jared

Or Scott Smith from Harms auto he says there aren't worth anything........ unless its his. or Ademon same thing:banghead:
I've only got three left, one was purchased from Tonys parts. so i paid going rate for that but it does have the strip kit parts in it (That one will go on my 426" 340), second one i have is a nice clean stock one for my matching numbers stock block purchased off ebay. third one has a cracked choke tower that should still function properly, it didn't just magically appear in my garage that one was purchased from demonsizzler so i didn't get a discount. Ive never told anyone they are worth less than they are and dont appreciate what you are suggesting w2360duster!!

How much? what the going rate then? How about for a newly rebuilt unmolested TQ.

I've paid between $200 and $300 for them. A molested one is a parts carb to me anywhere from $10 to up to $150 or so depending on what part is missing or cracked or frozen etc. Rebuild mean nothing unless it comes with paperwork that it was rebuilt by Harms, Carburetor shop, Quickfuel, etc.. these shops can ultrasound clean them, mill if warped, rebush shafts, properly retap idle air screws, adjust butterfly to bore if needed, and i know Harms runs and adjusts each carb he does on a test engine. Check Ebay completed auctions for a idea.
