That should be a legit VIN, maybe the car was seriously wrecked and CA issued a new VIN. That sucks, though, for collectors, as it sure ain't original.

Maybe CA? would have records of the original VIN, ???

car show no signs of being wrecked. but who knows. i was speaking with my father about this and he stated the car my have been stolen once. makes sense because i purchased a car here in utah and was found to have been stolen, recovered, and resold though state auction. requiring a new state issued vin number for the vehicle.
