I've fit 225/60/15 on my 68 Barracuda. but with 15x7 4.25" backspacing cop car rims. I run big bolt pattern 73-76 spindles and disks.
I was running 3 degress of caster. That tilts the spindle back and results in the tire moving back a little too. I was also running 1/4 degree negative camber.
It's was still very very close. So close that every once in a while it would rub but not enough to harm anything. And I know people that have tried it and had rubbing.
