I have an 5/6/70 340 engine with serial#1b355899 or lb355899 stamped on pass side of block. Does this tell what kind of car it came from?
 
The only thing that number tells is the year, assembly plant and sequence number

1 = 1971
B = Hamtramck, Michigan plant
355899 sequence #
 
Duster, Demon, Cuda, Challenger

I'll guess mostly likely a Chally or Cuda
 
I'll guess Demon, but only because I know of one a few VINs after this one & Hamtramck typically assigned VINs in model groups.
