I have someone who needs a auto tranny that will fit a 65 dodge dart and is around the LA area. Anyone out there who has one for cheap that still works? I know there should be some next to nothing that guys have swapped out for bigger motors and can't use them.

Hit me up.

You should have this posted in the "parts wanted" section, not the transmission technical discussion forum. A lot of guys monitor it specifically for the purpose of selling parts.

Uh: A 50 year old, rare 1 year only style transmission that's cheap and still works good! Your kidding, right! :-k... Good luck

I have one sitting on my side yard that works like a champ. Just took it out of my 65 dart worked like a charm. It's got the cable operated park and the torque converter. I'm in northern cal. Took it out because I put a built 904 for drag racing. Let me know if you are interested I'll make you a screamin deal to help you out. Pm me for details

Yeah. There is luck that all these older cars are still running. But its all mechanical and mechanics break down over years of use and have to be repaired/reworked. Not asking for a brand new old stock tranny. If i were looking for that then I would be quite the dumb dumb. After your 50 years, I doubt your parts could even be replaced/repaired.

Gotta say I got egg on my face, LOL... I've been rebuilding torqueflite's for over 30 yrs. and it's been ages since I ran across a good 65 for a good price. You definitely got lucky

Yea I've got a cherry one on my side yard with converter. Maybe ill post it in the for sale Ad's. Didn't realize they were that scarse.
