Headlight Relays

When I do the upgrade I am planning on getting one from Rob:http://www.forabodiesonly.com/mopar/showthread.php?t=216514

Also will eventually get some non sealed beam glass headlights and regular H4 bulbs.
If those aren't satisfactory to me I will possibly go with some HIDs if the lights have a shroud over the bulbs inside them so I am not just scattering the light everywhere and blinding people

I'll tell you what NOT to get.......these. I bought some and drove my car at night and was actually yelling and cursing them inside my car while I was driving home, they were so weak! How the hell they meet federal standards is beyond me. They may look real bitchin' on your car sitting in a parking lot or a burger joint, but......they're a joke.

I figured those would be a joke.
I have also looked into using a factory projector unit and butchering a cheap ebay clear housing to install it

What's the headlight conversion with jeep lights

I first did the headlamp relay upgrade (gets the load off of the stock wiring) with my stock headlamps. Much improved.

I then used a set of Headlamps from a 2012 Jeep Wrangler because I liked the way the look and the price was right. It was a simple remove and replace. However, you will need to modify the wiring (different connectors). I found some "male" terminals (that fight snuggly in the stock headlamp connector) to crimp onto the Wrangler connectors. This will allow me to go back to the stock headlamps if necessary.

Contact Dan Stern, get relays, Cibie H4 lamps and whatever bulbs Dan suggests...

To just cut relays into the stock light wiring takes load off headlight switch and interior wiring. It increases the load on the stock wiring from relays to bulbs. That wire is undersize. Both front lamps share a single pitiful chassis ground ( screw through radiator support ).
Proper upgrade to modern bulbs should include larger gauge wire and improved chassis ground path.
