Best honest racing movie, you have seen....

I know that this is an old thread already. - But I thought I'd revive it now that the Snake and Mongoose film has finally been released on video.

I agree with Abodybomber for my top choice. I saw Grand Prix (at the theater) years ago and fell in love with that movie. The driving scenes on the big screen really gave me the sensation of being in a formula 1 car.

My second choice would be Heart Like a Wheel.

For third pick I'd go with the movie RUSH by Ron Howard. It's a great story.

And Snake & Mongoose fourth. I wouldn't say it's a great movie but I did enjoy it a lot. I don't want to sound like I think I'm some fancy schmancy movie critic, but I think they could have done a better job of character development. They mix in a bunch of old racing footage throughout the movie which is OK, but I don't think it blends in seamlessly. I think I might have preferred to see more of the cars that they built for the movie in action instead. All in all I still think it's a good movie. I just had my anticipation up so high that I think maybe I was expecting too much.
