I have a 1969 Barracuda with power steering and a column shift, I am converting it to floor shift and have another rack out of I believe a dart that is Manual steering, cause it is slightly longer. I was wondering if anyone knew of any other cars I can swap a column out of and it will work in my Cuda with PS. I Measured a 67 gtx last night but the total length from firewall to where the steering wheel mounts is just over an inch longer so that is a no go.

I check into having the Shaft of the dart column straightened but most shops said it wont be worth the money invested. I though of swapping the components on my cars column with the dart floor shift column but the components in the engine bay where the shifter linkage is are still going to be there, and wasn't sure if anyone has done anything to change these items.

Any links or input is greatly appreciated.

Thanks,
Jack

You can move the center shaft from one column to another.

I was not able to find much info on how to take the colum apart, I removed the turn signal switch and I assume I need a puller to remove the housing that has has the PRND21 and shift lever on it, does this sound correct?

You may not need a puller. The bearing isn't press fit.
Other than rust,
There is a tiny snap ring above the upper bearing. The ring groove develops a rolled up burr over time.
File away that little burr and the shaft should slide right out the bottom of the tube. Service manuals are free downloads. Even if your exact year model isn't , what is available will help.
