Hey guys!

Just about to order some interior pieces for the project and haven't quite been able to figure out if this is something that can be fixed/replaced, and if so, what is it? :)

It's a metal slab that sits in front of the K-member and it would appear to me it's where the radiator rests. Not sure why it's mangled but I'm not sure why the previous owner did what he did to this car in the first place--but that's another story.

Here are a couple of pictures in regards to what I'm talking about.

Thanks!

Easily repaired with normal bodywork methods. You could also get one of the aftermarket reenforcing braces like XV motorsports used. The one on my 66 was even more mangled and now it is totally fixed and looks like factory. Hammer & dollie and heat and a mig welder and presto. BTW the hole is where a captured nut goes to secure the brake from the k-member to the cross member.

Lower radiator support.

AMD (auto metal direct) makes these now and they're very nice pieces. Same gauge as original and has the alignment tabs laser cut into them as well to locate the frame rails, just like the original.

There was a brace that was bolted to that hole and goes down to the K frame. At some point it appears to have been ripped out. Hence why the hole is tore open. My car doesnt have one and I dont believe its a necessary piece.

Depending on how much work you are looking to do you can replace the entire section with something mentioned above or just hammer it back into place if you dont care how it looks.
