Big Sky notchback
Getting close to finished on the restoration of my 68 notch. I live in very rural MT where finding a classic mopar for sale is near impossible. I had almost given up my search last year when I bumped into an old coworker I knew had a barracuda. I asked if he knew of any mopars for sale he ought for a moment and replied,"yeah I do. mine." These are pics from the last year that I have posted in my galleries.
How she looked when we picked her up. Originally a 318/auto car. Now a roller.
Stripped down and gutted. The driver door had a series of waves and one very low spot. There was rust under the vinyl top, in the trunk drip rails, one quarter panel and one door.

Primed and ready for block sanding.
Jammed. The body line down is Plum Crazy. Up and the engine compartment is Opal Gray. This will be set off by a Sublime Green stripe framed by black.
The new power plant shoehorned in with the help of Schumacher engine mounts and tri-y headers.

Laying on the Opal Gray. Can you believe I am putting a PT cruiser color on my Barracuda?
Finally get to see how the colors will work together. I was nervous as a long tailed cat in a room full of rocking chairs.
Again but after the clear coat...
Finally out in the sun for the first time with new skin.
After 5 months the upholsterer was finally done with the seats. Goodbye all black, hello white with purple stripes.
After a long, cold winter being stuck in the garage sideways at the very front, blocked in by daily drivers, the sun came out and warmed up. I decided she needed a quick bath in the sun.

I hope you all enjoy the series of pictures showing the transformation of my 68. To say I was nervous about the color combo would be an understatement. I know that many of you are purists. Many others despise two-tone on muscle cars. Still others just don't like high impact colors on earlier cars. Not to leave out the big wheel haters (17"). I will not apologize or be swayed. I set out with one goal. Make my 68 mine.
