543 RB External Oil Line [ Info Needed]

finally got around to pre-lubing the motor. had too much oil to the top end, the single line, swinging p/u, h.v. pump, sucked the pan dry quick. restricted the flow to the top, alls well now, old funny car pan worked great. a single line set-up will certainly feed a 6500 rpm engine. I may even have to go back to a standard pump tho------have a terrible heater motor-master cyl. clearance problem.(raised port heads-w/ mopar cast perf. valve covers make everything worse clearance wise. moral of the story-don`t use raised port heads on a 68 barracuda, unless u want 2 other headaches!-lol--bob:banghead:

Did you restrict the oil to the top end via the block? I used set screws in the cylinder heads that I drilled out, instead of doing it through the block. That way I could adjust the flow by just pulling the valve covers and swapping out the set screws. Also using an oil pressure regulator on the oiling system.
