I've been looking around and was wondering if anyone has purchased Capet for there car online and know of some good place. I'm just wondering if its a good fit or have to do some modifications to it. Also a headliner as well. My interior has not held up that well.

I have. A couple times. It fits and fits fairly good. At first it caught me by surprise because there were two pieces. The front and back are separate pieces. That goes virtually unnoticed unless you're looking. There's a little cutting to be done around the high beam switch and foot pump. If you have a foot pump. So. I have no cpmplaints. There may be a one piece carpet out there somewhere. I've never really had call to look.

The first replacement carpet I ever ordered was probably 35 years ago. It was through J.C. Whitney. It fit like crap. Too narrow across and I had to glue it down (with air gaps because it was narrow) to keep it from exposing the floor pan. It was also a sewed carpet. Unlike a molded carpet that conforms to the bumps in the floor through some kind of molding process, it was cut and sewn together in an attempt to match the floor contour. It didn't come close to matching.

Since then I've replaced the carpeting in several vehicles with much better results. Most are sent wider than what you need and you have to trim them now. I've bought from a variety of suppliers. I have only purchased 'molded' carpeting since the fiasco with that first non-molded one I installed. It does seem that most fit OK but the more expensive ones seem to follow that floor contour better.

Because I tend to buy off of eBay I usually read the feedback about the automotive carpeting that sellers have gotten and use it as a guide for where to gamble my $$ on.

I purchased mine online from ebay and really have no complaints, Order molded and lay it out to settle for a day in the car at around 70 f. It fit well and just had to trim the sides and high beam switch, Little trick take a punch or an old screwdriver and heat it with a torch to melt the holes where the seatbelts and seat bolt holes after it is in an lays where you want it. Mine went in really easy. Mine was a mid expensive one. Heard stories about the cheap ones and I would stay away. I believe this is the one I ordered.

Wow cheaper then I thought. Thanks for the responses guys.

I got mine from Dantes. I found it OK but I have found most moulded carpets don't fit nice and tight around the trans tunnel. They say they do but to say its moulded to your specific model is a bit of a stretch.

Trim parts is the best out there. Some sets can be a bit of a challenge but most go in very well. I believe it comes down to who is moulding the carpet to the floor pan that day. Some employees do great work others don't. The last set I got from acc was very very bad. They used to be the best 20 years ago.
I own a upholstery shop and will use only trim parts for carpet.

I ordered mine from Classic Industries fit well no problems at all and looks good

Ordered mine from

acc auto carpet

this should have been a link but doesnt look like it, i just googled ACC auto carpet

Fit well and they are a OEM manufacturer for new cars. They even made the carpet for the trailer on my prowler as OEM

I ordered plush carpet instead of loop for better look

Even new car carpet doesnt fit great. See it every day, but once the seats and everything else gets installed the few places that you dont like are still there but you dont notice.

Lots of places re-sell Auto Custom Carpet stuff (acc). So long as you're sure that's what you're buying you'll be in good shape. I've used their stuff for over 20 years and no complaints - fits like factory, looks like factory.

I ordered from Auto Custom Carpets before and it went in and fit well.
