Anybody use this aircleaner for hood clearance?

ill add to the general consensus, with an all caps rage rant of fury, FOR THE LOVE OF PETE PLEASE DEAR GOD DO NOT NOT NOT USE THAT THING!!!! :D ive seen 2 rigs burn to the ground from those damn things. that and if theyre held up to the light....the realy dont filter jack squat besides raccoons and small children......for filter selection just remember, more folds per inch equals more surface area. so a smaller filter doesnt necessarily mean the engines going to choke in the top end. the average economy wix (napa silver) 14 inch filter has around 2.5 pletes per inch, the napa gold, 8-10ish. HUGE difference. smaller variants are very similar. i run a 10 inch filter in my early-a, with a m-body cop car intake, (approx .5in. higher than a standard intake) a 1 inch phenolic spacer, flat base, NOT drop base, and a 3 inch tall filter, it clears with ease. without the worries of it being too small or restrictive. most air filter size calculators can be a useful tool to guide you. it seems most of the drop bases ive ran have made my rigs a turd on the bottom end, enough to be noticeable anyway. anyone remember or run a substack or the k&n flow-top air filter housings? the more direct the airflow, the better.
