1977 Power Wagon 4X4 3/4 Ton Club Cab Long Bed

I have been wanting one of these for the past 1.5 years at least. Since I sold my 1999 Ram 2500 4X4 Quad Cab Long Bed last month, I needed something to replace it. I almost contacted bighammer about his 3/4 ton 4X4 Power Wagon Club Cab Long Bed as his is very nice and an unbelievable price, but I decided on this one instead.

It has a 440 and A/T. Supposedly the engine and transmission are original, but were rebuilt about 12K miles ago. Supposedly the rear axle is original as well; I don't know what gear ratio yet, I'll check it when I get a chance. I know the front axle is not original and I don't know what it came out of yet. It has an 8" SkyJacker lift kit installed as well. It has some bugs that need worked out, not too many vehicles this old don't so I'm not disappointed. The following items need fixed or replaced: Speedometer, A/C compressor clutch, gas gauge, no heat, front drive shaft not installed. The alternator and belt will also need replaced as the alternator locked up and broke the belt about 90 miles from home on my drive back from Brownsdale, MN. It was about a 700 mile drive. That was my fault that this happened as I believe we over-tightened the alternator belt before I set out on my trip back. I have a milk crate full of good alternators so that will be a quick fix.

The club cab part is full of parts that came with it. Some of those parts include the original intake and carb, original exhaust manifolds, front drive shaft, replacement A/C compressor clutch, new belts, and many more parts that I haven't had a chance to go through.

During the trip back I had to stop and fix the windshield wipers; yeah I know I should have checked them before I left. It turned out all 4 of the plastic bushings were broken. I worked on it in a car parts store parking lot. I bought a couple screw drivers and they were nice enough to loan me a pair of channel locks and a pair of vise grips.

I also had to stop and fix the throttle return spring during the trip; that part was a little f'd up. The throttle hung while I was doing 70 so I stepped on the pedal again hoping it would spring back, nope, so i pumped it again and started going even faster, and then pumped it again with the same outcome. I then shifted it to nuetral and as the RPMs proceeded to rise, I turned the ignition off to coast it to a stop on the side of the interstate. I popped the hood to find the throttle return spring laying on top of the intake. I didn't have any tools as I flew to Rochester, MN to have the owner pick me up in it for a test drive. Since I flew, I had no tools, not even a Leatherman as I would usually carry. Fortunately, I found a small hole next to the hood bumper to bend a hook back into the end of the spring as it had broken just that part of it off.

Anyway, she is home now. Unfortunately, I don't have money to put in her right now, but I will fix what I can that I already have parts to fix.

Didn't you recently sell a Dodge Cummins pick-up you were having troubles with?
