Centering new rearend ?

I dont always assume that a professional shop knows all of this stuff,
the local spring Guru said to torque U-bolts down to 150# !
good thing I checked my factory service manual ! " tighten to 45 ft lbs... DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN U-BOLTS !!! "

Dang! Good thing you looked in your manual or you'd have ruined the housing. As Rob said driving it with just the clamps holding it is a big no no. 45 lbs of torque on U-bolts holding an axel in place with a 3000+ lb car trying to twist it is a disaster waiting to happen.
