ok, simple question. My first engine build. Newly rebuilt 340 and I put an edelbrock air gap intake on. I noticed it has a female thread on the intake for the hose to the water pump. The small hose that goes between. Anyone know what that thread size is? Is there a special hose/adapter I am supposed to use? One of them things I've been meaning to do..

Thanks for the help...

you can buy a brass or galvanized steel fitting from home depot or any hardware store..

trying to remember size

i think its 1/2 i think go to hardware store ace or aco or what ever else home depot on hoover tell them you want a once again i think 1/2 inch male nippel
>lol he said male nippel<
i just had to replace one on my car 2 weeks ago
your about 10 mins from me probley warren aint that big if you cant get it handeld in a few days pm and ill meet you at the store to help you out

sorry i replied walked away and was thinking

the fitting you will need is NPT national pipe thread
and it will be brass in less you order or can find stainless

Thanks for the replies. It does look bigger than 1/2". I will try 3/4" and see if that works. The car is a 74. The motor is a 73. I purchased the water pump from Mancini and told them it was for a 73, so hopefully all is good.... I have the hose already, just need the fitting...

chubsgts - yea i goto that home depot usually. i was there a few times this weekend... I'm near 12 and Van Dyke, so yea probably close by...

go over to mancini and tell them you need the intake manifold bypass hose fitting. They'll hand you the right one that is the same as stock. It wasn't much money.

Check the box that the intake came in. I was just about ready to toss it when I heard something rattling around inside. It turned out to be a brand new brass bypass fitting.

The box went to the trash three years ago. :D

(I have done this same thing before, so now I get to make fun of you for doing it)
