has any body went to this one before was thinking bout goin , how is it and is there a lot of cars and swap meet?:blob:

Drove the wife's "Cuda up there last year, brout home 2 awards !!! She was stoked, Mopar Muscle Choice award was her happy spot !!! I think we'll be heading up again providing work doesn't interfere with her schedule !! They're looking to build it bigger and better each year,so I don't mind contributing !!!

cool and congrats on the awards were there a lot of sellers for the swap meet and was there a lot of racing?

Yes,there were a fair amount of vendors, and quite a bit of racing !! Now that Mopar Muscle is heading it up,they are looking for bigger and better showings in the years to come !! Surprisingly, GEORGIA had a very poor turnout for everything, but maybe that will change !!! Not sure if the wife will be able to make it this year, so I may just trailer my Dart up there !!

Nice track, decent turnout for vendors. But it is held on the hottest weekend in Ga. If they would move it up a month I think there would be a much better turnout.

There was a fair amount of shade by the show cars to hide in ! She's also informed me it's the very last week of school,so she won't be making it !!! That Sux !!!

This past year was an exception. It was really nice weather and a great time. In most years past in has been 105 ,106 degrees and your tennis shoes would stick to the asphalt!

:-Dok dumb question how long would it take you to walk and look through the swap meet and vendors?

I'm not the right one to ask due to physical disabilitities !! As said before, they are expecting larger turnouts this year too !!! Simply put,is it worth attending, yes ! I drove the wife's '68 Barracuda from Melbourne Fla to it, and would do it all over again !! Only she's not coming this year,my Buzzin Half Dozen doesn't like anyting less than 100 Octane, and at $9.00 a gallon by me,its happy *** is gonna have to go on a trailer !!

I would say about one hour if you take your time. What keeps it interesting is vendors/hobbyist showing up later so you have to keep looking.

thanks just wondering im about seven hours or so away:-D

I am about 6 hours away. I have found the dates, but no times. I called the track today to check and see if there were any set times for the gates to open and see when certain things start, but the lady said they were working on the schedule and they are about ready to start printing fliers.

I tell ya what....

If you run your car, you should go.

That is the nicest combo 1/8 1/4 mile track I've ever seen.

Even the restrooms were clean!

That show seems much more geared to racing than showing/swap meet, but it's still nice.

I spent the whole day last year wishing I hadn't just filled up the Dakota with 87 after getting off I 75, or I'd have run it.

Despite the relatively small swap meet I did score a couple real bargains, and let go another I'm still kicking myself for not pulling the trigger on.

Time to walk swap meet- about an hour.
Time to walk show car area- about an hour.
Time to walk race car staging area- 2-3 hours!

It is a great Mopar event. The only complaint is the time of year, IT"S HOT, last year was an exception, the weather was nice, for once. If I could change one thing it would be to move the event back about 6 weeks. If you go to the web page you'll notice they highlight "SHADE"

They finally got the drag race entry & payouts posted at the SGMP site. I called and was told Friday test-&-tune will be $30.00. I was also told that paying the race entry Friday will get you in for early parking even if you don't test.

Hopefully there will be enough cars to eliminate/minimize pro-rating the purse. At the moment, the Weather Channel says no or little chance of rain with highs in the low 90's in Adel, GA.
They have prepped the track pretty well in years past.

Well it was a great show. Hot as hell but that is normal. Sold quite a few parts, and sold a bench seat to one of our young gun members, FlyingFalcon. It excites me to see young guys and gals getting involved in the Mopar hobby.
