Does the metal above the door panels get painted peal white or a different shade of white?

On my 68 convertible, the white above and below the door panels is NOT pearl. The trim above the windshield is NOT pearl either. The A-pillars ARE pearl.

okay not pearl-thanks. Anybody know what shade or manufacturer number of paint?

What does your fender tag say? There is a code for upper door paint.

That is cross referenced to the repair manual.

68 vs 69 may not be the same. Hardtop vs conv may not be same.

What kind of answer is that? People care. If they didn't, they wouldn't ask. I bought some SEM Super White. That's the color most people use on the 70+ interiors. I havn't done a test spray yet to see how it matches.

Think how the factory thought about it. One color, as far as fast as possible.

Some folks get carried away with the perceived value of a-bodies, and 'political correctness' act like it some high dollar barett-jackson build. That's why I said what I said. If your gonna rub your car with a diaper and let it sit in a garage, then by all means, 'correct' it right up.

I prefer color of car (JMO)... pulls it all together when dash is also same color. In my case B5 Blue. Just not a fan of complete white door- but I have seen a few cars where it looks good.

There were multiple upper door frame paint colors. You could have gotten blue but I think the dash and carpet had to be blue as well. I agree on the white being too white. I didn't like mine until I realised the pearl had faded out of the door panels. With new panels I think there will be enough of a contrast. Time will tell.

I like the idea of painting upper panels body color....Mine is T5 copper.

My 68 Cuda vert is red. Upper door frames were black. I figured that was so on a nice sunny hot day when you hung your bare arm out the window you would really get the SIZZLE effect

And rug needs to match

But red is an exception. I don't think I have seen a red dash and rug from the factory. I would think this code would show black with black rug

Has anyone seen black upper door paint with white interior AND a white convert top? I wonder if a black top needed to be ordered with the black upper door frame paint?

If there is nothing copper colored in your interior it looks totally out of place when you are inside the car.

The factory designers used pretty good choices when combining interior two tone colors.

Here are the 69 Dart trim color selectors:

Where did you find that information? I'm looking for similar info for my 67 convertible.
