Well, backwards from the way a lot of people do it.

I don't generally discuss what I do with my car, but I figured I would try to do it a little more.
It's not on purpose, just don't have a lot of spare time usually.
I do all my own work, including engine, trans, suspension and alignment which saves a ton of money, as well as makes sure some sh** for brains newbie doesn't mess something up.

I have a stock 318 and a A999 trans, both in good condition so I started adding accesories instead of modifying the engine itself so I could use it as a daily driver without breaking the bank on fuel costs.

I added,
Eddie electric choke 600 carb and dual plane performer intake
Chrome unsilenced air cleaner
Electric fuel pump
Hedman 1-5/8 aluminized headers with Remflex gaskets
Fabricated aluminum valve covers
2.5 inch dual exhaust (X piped)
Flowmaster 40's
Mini starter
HEI ignition and NGK's at .050
8mm yellow silicone wires
Innovate wideband Air/Fuel guage
Line lock (anti roll) kit
Procomp dual stage rev limiter
8 blade aluminum water pump
26 inch radiator
Fully automatic electric cooling
Recaro Sport buckets (in custom two tone)
Chrome 15 inch LBP rims
LED brake, tail, signals and running lights
Custom guage pod for the dash (carbon fiber detail for dash not ready yet)
New tach (white face)
New fuel guage and sender (white face)
White face oil, temp, and volt guages in the original dash bezel locations
Hurst Promatic 2 floor shifter
All front and rear Energy Suspention red bushings and ball joint covers
2x3 .085 wall subframe connectors

Next will probably be the Cherokee 8.8 rear with disc brakes and driveline mods.

The plan is to run it like this while I find a good LA 360.
Have the 360 heads milled .040 and run them on the 318 while I build the 360 bottom end.
I already have a new MP cam, new MP lifters, and double roller timing set for the 360, but it will need boring, rods, pistons and balancing before the 360 short block gets dropped in.
I don't think I need to deck the block due to keeping it fairly low on the compression so I can run 87-89 regular fuel.
It also does not need to rev to the moon, as the added bottom end torque of the 360 will be fine, and should move pretty good around town with the A999 gearing.
Right now it still has a 7-1/4 rear with 15 inch tires and runs 2800 RPM's at 70 mph. (I normally do 75-85 when on the freeway)

After all of this is done I want it to still be daily driveable with mild compression and freeway capable gearing

After that, who knows where it will go from there as I have no specific plans beyond this except to drive the hell out of it like I do now. :D

I did it backwards once, and I'm not falling for that again.

I Don't get the backwards comment??? Different strokes for different folks,,, I don't think there is a right or wrong way to restore a car is there...The car looks great...Bill

The backwards comment was because I started with all the parts upgrade details first, instead of with the horse power.
But in one weekend I will be able to swap out the bottom end and have everything else in place ahead of time.

A person has to do both anyway, but I won't have to iron out a bunch of details when it comes to the power adding swap.

Thanks for the positive comments guy's, it's taken about two years to get it this far from a totally stock starting point.
