Copied from my facebook update:

I'm going to have to vent:

I have never been this horribly treated by an insurance company before.
I had Progressive insurance years ago and they were horrible.
But now State Farm tops the cake!
First off their communication needs a lot of work, they do not give specific information regarding uploading pictures to their website so the motorsports shop had a hard time uploading the pictures. I finally went there and took the pictures myself and tried uploading it myself I called a week later to see how things are going: 'Nope we don't see any pictures, oh by the way, you have to make sure only the claim number is on the subject line, nothing else. Really? Thanks for telling me that now! Maybe you should include that in the instructions you sent out to me and the shop!

Second of all, apparently the insurance does not send out claim adjusters anymore they want either the shop or the customer to do the work for them. Newgate motorsports stated: "They have always sent out claim adjusters to take the pictures and assess the damages. But now they want us to do everything with hardly any instruction on how to use their email uploading system." He even asked them why and he couldn't get a straight answer from them, maybe it has something to do with motorcycles not being worth their time anymore?

Thirdly, I am done with this company, even though my agent has been awesome with us, I suggest he find another company to work for. This is ridiculous, the accident happened March 8th, and they still have not got my claim done, I had to call them constantly almost everyday in the past week to get updates. One of them even seemed bugged about it. Really? That's too bad, get used to it! If you're going to continue having poor communicative skills towards your own clients then I'm sure I won't be the only one. And I suggest that they also deal with it! As I am going to continue harassing them until I see some action. I want to see results, not hear anymore excuses!

And yes, that 4.8 mile run I did yesterday was to blow off some steam
Now that I'm fuming again as I typed this.

That being said, I'm going to make a few phone calls to certain organizations that is going to change their tune pretty quick!

:angryfir: I should not be doing their work for them unless they pay me for it!!! :angryfir:

HMM, My daughter in Colorado wrecked her suv early last week. State Farm has already sent an adjuster and they have made her a decent offer already for the property damage.

Yep just wait and see how American family treats its policyholders!!!!!'What a LOSER company that is!!!!!

Call state insurance commissioner and file a complaint. Call your agent and get him to push from his end, be polite but a pain in the ***. The squeaky wheel gets the grease. All insurance companies are like this, they take your money but make you fight when you file a claim.

Had a claim last month with State Farm. Got a check for everything in 2 weeks and they sent an adjuster out within 2 days.

I have been with them for over 25 years and never a problem with State Farm....

Sorry to hear you are having problems..

Sory to read about your troubles. That said,

I've had State Farm Insurance on all of my vehicles, my house, and a lot of my, and my kids cars, and equipment, and even their apartment's contents for 30 years. Through a house fire, storm damage, car related issues, including accidents, and even one "total", I have never once had an issue with State Farm Insurance. They have been exemplary.

I'm in the collision repair industry and deal with insurance companies every day. State Farm is my insurance company and it it the company I recommend to my friends.

One of the main reasons I prefer State Farm over the others is that State Farm requires the use of OEM or insurance quality used parts over after-market garbage.

State Farm did just have a major restructuring in how their company, shops and part suppliers interact. Adjusters really only show up if they have questions about a repair that can't be answered on the phone or with pictures.

My guess is, your problem is more likely caused by the shop not relaying information to State Farm..... So, State Farm can't give you the answers to the questions you are looking for.

I totaled my car in Co last year. They were great to work with. Paid me what the car was worth without any hassle. Paid for a Rent-a-van for the last week and half of the trip. I had no complaints. Sometimes the adjuster and I played phone tag, but many times I was where I didn't have a signal. We handled it all on the road and by the time I got back they had a check waiting for me. I signed over the title they gave me a check.
No we have had issues with them removing cars from our policy in a timely manner...that took a few phone calls.

it does sound like the shop isn't helping much. I hit a deer with my truck, and the adjuster came out to my house two days later. The check came within days, written to me directly. I have been with State Farm since 1979. I would go to the shop and tell them to either send the Info, or you are moving the bike to another shop. I have heard they rely on the In house estimator, and work off that estimate, and don't come out unless there is more damage.

Same here, State Farm for over 25yrs on everything. My agent is also very helpful. I'd suggest asking if he/she can assist.

X2 for me had the same agent for over 30 years, never had an issue in fact they carry classic car insurance and will cover your car for what you get an appraisal for. I will say though that insurance is different in each state, so GOOD LUCK hope you get this addressed...

Likewise Here, have had State Farm for 30 some years and have had several claims over that time. NEVER A PROBLEM......

All I've ever heard was good about State Farm. That said, we have Geico and I cannot recommend them enough. I totaled my truck on the 24th of February this year. On the 26th, the adjuster was knocking on MY front door with the check for the difference after they paid my truck off with the bank. They gave me 100% HIGH RETAIL value on my truck with no arguments whatsoever and paid SLAM OFF in two days. Since it was a no fault accident for me, they even got my deductible back very quickly. So, if it comes down to changing companies, I cannot recommend Geico enough.

The lizard is kinda cute too....I mean, he's no Flo, but then again, who is???!!!

That's part of the settlement on a class action lawsuit from about ten years ago. They would only pay for LQK parts and wouldn't flip the bill for OE. Even when the estimate was being written for OE only parts that weren't available LQK they would only agree to good used salvage and not new. When the customers started taking a hit on resale and trade-in value, it went to court.

I was right in the middle of my career in pulling frames when this shook down.

More update...

Well apparently they now deem the bike as fixable and therefore will not total it.

They will send the check of what it will cost to repair it. The team that was handling my claim has been pulled off and my claim is being reassigned to another team. My agent filed a complaint with their management. Management called me personally to apologize and promised to get the ball rolling on this. He stated that it shouldn't take a month let alone 2 to get the claim done and paid to the customer. He did state that the communication between the shop and the previously assigned team should have been handled a lot better by both parties.

I guess its a win-win. I won't get good chunk of change for the totaled bike (almost $6000), but I'll get almost $4000 plus the bike back with a non-salvaged title. :thumbrig:
