DF clutch break in question

Putting in a McLeod DF clutch in 340 Dart. McLeod recommends 500 miles of stop and go driving to properly break in the clutch. I can't wait that long! What's the real deal on break in period? Car is driven hard occasionally and never raced.
 
Lotsa race cars aren't plated,, hard to put 500 mi on them...


Three or four test buns in the track parking lot,, and away ya go..
 
Each time I have ever replaced mine give it a once around the neighbor hood then give it hell never had a problem. Lite em up

Agreed. 500 city miles would take forever.
 
They want you to get some heat in the pucks so they will temper and not cup..
