Decided to drive the Interstate yesterday to the nearest race track just to see if she'd make it with the fresh teen and 904. (had about 900 mi on em)

Driving 70-75mph most all the way at 3000-3200rpm.
106mi round trip. On the way back was going uphill. Elevation went from just over 6000ft down to just over 4800 and back up to the 6000.
Temp stayed about 185* and under the whole time.

Used approximately 5.52gal of 91 fuel round trip.

Got just over 19mpg with the sucker. Not bad I'd say! I was certainly surprised.

Colorado Springs is at a little over 6000ft above sea level. Pueblo, where the track is, is around 4800 ft above sea level. So the amount of decent over 53 mi = 1200 ft.
lol

Unless you're being serious....Manual disc brakes up front, 9" drum in back. :)

Oh, sorry, forgot that. 3.23's.
I'll have to go look at the tire size.

Carb is an old Holley 6210-3 650 spread bore dp. 64prim/87sec.

edit. Tires are 215/70R/14

Very good, Anything around 20 mpg without OD I'd say is good.
My 88 1 ton 318 dodge auto with 4.10's,,,,8.9 mpg :sad1:

HOOOHGF, Wow! That with a 2bbl?

The worn out 273 2bbl it replaced would only get 16mpg at best on the highway. That old 650 has smaller primaries than the 2bbl so I'm sure it helps a little.

thats awesome! my 66 more-door dart pulled 18.6 on a 550 mile all nighter bomb run a year ago. 318 cop engine (360 top end factory) holley 4175 650 cfm, TF999 with lockup, 2.94's, and the stocker puny ridiculous 13's... held at 195 the entire way, 3000 rpm @ 70mph, and pulled id say 16-18 in lbs of mercury 90% of the way, according to my gauge anyway...
