Need a factory correct antenna for my '68 Barracuda Formula S.
Seems like facotry original had the cable exiting from side of
"L" shaped base?
Also, are the pointed clips really needed?
Jim's is the only site that mentioned this.
Jim wants $200.00 for kit.

Found on another site for $115 (no "clips").

Jack's (who I've bought from before) $140.

Also, was original antenna a solid mast or telescoping?

Don't want to "nickel and dime", but want to get the correct kit for best price.

Advice?...Thanks.

Mine is a telescoping mast. I think they did that to "tune" the antenna for the best signal reception. The best FM reception requires one height and AM, another.

I am presently unsure whether I will re-install my factory antenna. I want to determine whether aftermarket "wound" antennas perform any better in real life.

All my 67 fishes have or had telescoping masts. My 68 has a rigid mast. I think either would be correct for 68.
